Hotel Durban

We checked in for two nights. This is the WORST HOTEL I have experienced. Our room is 103, on the ground floor. Beside our room are the exhaust fans of the restaurant beside the hotel. It was so NOISY, and they cannot give us any solutions because apparently they were fully booked for those two nights! We had to endure it from 9:00 p.m. up until 12 o'clock at midnight! I was so frustrated! Imagine booking a hotel for comfort and getting to stay in a super noisy room! Also, according to the front desk, this is the first time that someone has complained about it. I doubt it!!! Do not check in here! It is so frustrating!

I have been staying in this place forever and have seen the changes that this place went thru. Decades of memories spent here. I still stay because of nostalgia and the memories associated when the grand lady was still alive and when Tony, her son took over. My biggest lament is on how this establishment do not seem to reciprocate the fondness I have for this place and how it garnered such a good following in Tripadvisor as I was once a DE in the forums. Or got mentioned in Lonely Planet because I did speak about it so fondly. Is having a window to a room too much to ask? I am claustrophobic. I have told them this time and again. But this constant stream of newbies manning the desk is affecting customer service. I am reminded why I stopped coming to this place years ago and started visiting just recently. But after this experience tonight, I dont think I will be coming back. Sad, as I really am fond of this place and the people who have become friends here. That warmth has been long gone. Now it is an everchanging stream of faces who are just here for the job. Amidst the jungle of Makati, I was holding on to my memories but I guess it is time for a new chapter and close this one. Shout out to Louise for being the new face amongst a sea of mediocrity. You made me realise decades of memories should all end here.

hi my name is vinxent wang, first of all what i want to say is that i very rarely leave comments but this time it is different because for me this is one of the best hotels i have ever stayed in. if you see any negative comments don't believe it because I have stayed at this hotel for 1 week. the staff really respects guests, every time a guest opens the door they always say hello, you can imagine if you come in and out 10 times maybe they will greet you 10 times too, the staff is very friendly, the rooms are very clean (cozy and aesthetic), and makes me want to leave a comment bc i have good memory here, the staff hotel gave me a birthday card yes I know this is a small thing but for some people this is very memorable. this is a 3 star hotel but for me the service is like a 5 star hotel. if you see comments saying this place is very noisy, the sound of music etc hey what do you expect because this is an area near clubbing and a place where people drink beer, don't believe it if anyone writing negative comments is not right, thank you durban hotel
